A hoop glider is a simple aerodynamic toy that demonstrates the principles of flight and aerodynamics. Its design allows it to glide smoothly through the air when launched, illustrating concepts such as lift, drag, and stability. By experimenting with different sizes and shapes of hoops, users can learn about how changes affect the glider's performance and understand basic physics concepts in a hands-on way. Additionally, hoop gliders serve as an engaging educational tool for students to explore the science of flight.
the purpose of having log-in form is to secure your account system and to avoid hacking on it.
It is the tangential stress ( normal to the radius) in a circular structure, such as a ring (hoop). For a example if you shrink fit a ring over a cylinder it will have hoop stress, tangential stress along the entire circumference.
Otto Lilienthal was the German inventor that designed and built a glider that would carry a human in 1891. He died in 1896 at the age of 48 when the glider he was flying lost power and crashed.

Yes, the length of the straw can affect the flight of a hoop glider. A longer straw may allow for a greater distance between the hoop and the center of gravity of the glider, potentially improving stability and lift. However, if the straw is too long, it could also increase drag and reduce overall flight efficiency. Finding the right balance in straw length is key to optimizing the glider's performance.
A Hang glider is used for FUN:)))
To survive and reproduce.
Some of the things that can be done for a science expo includes making a film canister rocket and building a super hoop glider. Others include making a balloon rocket.

I would not suggest making a repair to a broken embroidery hoop. Since the purpose of the hoop is to hold fabric in a tight, stretched position, there is too much tension on the parts to expect a repair to work. You would have to be more specific about what material the hoop is made from to be more clear. Is it wood, plastic, metal? They aren't very expensive, buy a new one.
It depends if it is a model glider or a manned glider.
Sugar gliders are not dangerous at all. They can bite, but not on purpose. If they do, it will only hurt like someone poking you with a dull toothpick.
