There isn't really a limit to the amount of ports, ive seen a port 9999 before, I often use high number ports that arnt assigned to anything. The maximum number is 65,535 as noted in the link below.
Use the following algorithm (written in pseudocode). Let largest be the lowest possible real number. Let smallest be the greatest possible real number. Repeat while there is input... { Read real number r from input. If r is greater than largest then let largest be r. If r is less than smallest then let smallest be r. } End repeat. Let range be largest minus smallest. Output range.
Nothing, its simply an arbitrarily assigned number to identify that type of part.
You can have a function with no parameters.

A well-known port is a fixed port number ranging from 0 to 1023, assigned by the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) for specific services and protocols, such as HTTP (port 80) and FTP (port 21). In contrast, an ephemeral port is a temporary port number assigned dynamically by the operating system for short-lived communication sessions, typically ranging from 49152 to 65535. Well-known ports facilitate standardized communication, while ephemeral ports enable client applications to establish connections without requiring pre-defined port numbers.
Dce cables and dte cables through you can connect.

The Internet Message Access Port is commonly assigned to port numbers 143 and 993. If one has access rights to their email server, they can manually change their IMAP port numbers there.
Addresses 80 - 87H are assigned to the P0 port
generally smtp is on 25 and pop3 is on 110. but there are different ports for different types of mail servers too.
