A bearing spider in a pump serves as a structural support element that maintains proper alignment and stability of the rotating shaft within the pump assembly. It helps to distribute radial loads and reduces vibrations, ensuring smoother operation and prolonging the lifespan of the bearings and other components. Additionally, it can assist in accommodating thermal expansion and contraction during pump operation.
The diameter of the bearing balls increased and the volume is locked.

1> first check vibration reading.2>if A side reading high means axil play of shaft runout.3> if V and H side reading more mins bearing failure or impeller out 4> after that stop the pump and check coupling spider first.5> check the shaft run out 6> check foundation bolts.7> check the bearings.
it is the bearing that holds the shafts while it is rotating.
In a double suction pump the bearing nearer to the pump coupling (i.e) nearer to the driven end is the in board bearing and the bearing on the other side of the pump is the outboard bearing.
The use of regular water creates sediments and bad function of the water pump bearing.
The bearing is on its way out. Replace the pump soon.

The spider bearing is commonly used on blower motors. Mounted on the fan shaft to allow the fan to turn easily, the bearing is secured to the blower housing by three arms instead of on one cross piece. The multiple arms gives it the "spider" name and differentiates it from the "pillow block bearing" mounted on the single cross piece. (I just fixed my cooler and learned the differences the hard way while trying to buy parts).

BAD BEARING IN A BELT DRIVEN ACCESSORY? I.E. ALTERNATOR, WATER PUMP, P.S. PUMP, ETC.? BAD BEARING IN A BELT DRIVEN ACCESSORY? I.E. ALTERNATOR, WATER PUMP, P.S. PUMP, ETC.?
1 A seal protects the water pump impeller shaft bearing from contamination by engine coolant. If this seal fails, a weep hole in the water pump will leak coolant. If the weep hole is leaking, shaft bearing will follow. Replace the water pump immediately. 2 The water pump impeller shaft bearing can prematurely wear because its mechanically driven. When the bearing is worn it will squeal and it needs replaced don't confuse it with belt sequel though.
