Glass is commonly coated to improve its scratch resistance, or to help eliminate reflections from the glass surface itself.
Spectacle lenses are commonly coated to improve their scratch resistance.
Camera lenses are coated to help minimise reflections internal to the lens system.
In a building, the window glass may be given a mirror coating (often nickel) or other colour for aesthetic purposes.
The glass in my car has been coated to reduce UV transmission, and thus reduce degradation of the interior.
Yes, sheet metal is available in both coated and uncoated forms. Coated sheet metal typically features a layer of protective material, such as paint or galvanization, to enhance corrosion resistance and durability. Uncoated sheet metal, on the other hand, is bare and may require additional treatment for specific applications. The choice between coated and uncoated depends on the intended use and environmental conditions.
X42 is 42000psi steel and x52 is 52000psi steel. They come either coated or uncoated.

They shouldn't. When using the correct electrode and amperage they will get hot but not red hot. Uncoated electrodes do get red hot but are not used in most applications. Too much amperage is usually the problem.
Foam glass is made when air bubbles are put into the glass when it is melted . Fiber glass is glass that has been pulled into long strands.

Offset paper and uncoated paper are similar in that both lack a coating, but they differ in their intended uses and printing characteristics. Offset paper is specifically designed for offset printing, featuring a smooth surface that allows for high-quality image reproduction. Uncoated paper, on the other hand, encompasses a broader category that includes various textures and finishes, making it suitable for a range of applications beyond just printing, such as stationery or art prints. Overall, while all offset paper is uncoated, not all uncoated paper is suitable for offset printing.
for me, i think the uncoated paper test is more sensitive than Sudan iv test. This is because Sudan iv test can only soluble in certain solvent thus make it harder to define either the solution that is tested is really have lipid in it although there is not. The uncoated paper test can show if there is lipid the the solution if greasy transparent spot comes out from the uncoated paper.
The message appears because the oils on your finger causes the condensation to form at different temperatures than uncoated glass. To "erase" a message, wash the mirror with Windex.
The disintegration time of coated tablets is typically longer compared to uncoated tablets due to the additional layer of coating that needs to dissolve before the tablet can disintegrate. Coated tablets are designed to release the medication gradually over time, which can affect the disintegration process. Uncoated tablets, on the other hand, disintegrate more quickly as they do not have an additional barrier to dissolve. The specific disintegration times can vary depending on the formulation of the tablet and the conditions in which it is tested.
Tempered glass is the same as non tempered glass except that it has been heated and then cooled to create a denser glass that is 400x stronger and when broken, does not shatter. It breaks up into balls/chunks leaving minimal sharp glass shards. If any uncoated glass is dirty beyond standard glass cleaners capabilities, 0000 steel wool cleans and polishes glass. This works great on windshields of cars to remove the "stain" wiper blades create
C stands for coated; U for uncoated.
Uncoated paper is tested for properties like brightness, opacity, smoothness, ink absorbency, and formation. These tests help evaluate the quality and suitability of the paper for various printing and writing applications.
The uncoated paper and multiwall bag industry remained stagnant in the late 1990s. Shipment volumes of $2.8 billion in 2000 were equal to those of the early 1990s.
