The "ribbon parameter card" is a little chip that is delivered with every newly bought pack of ribbons. You need to insert this card in the fitting slot of the printer (at the backside I assume), and let the printer read the contents of the chip. Once finished, you can remove the card. You need to follow this procedure for the printer to be able to work with the new ribbon. If you do not have the chip for that ribbon you can not use it.
A ribbon inductor is a type of inductor that utilizes a flat, ribbon-shaped conductor instead of traditional round wire. This design enhances the inductor's efficiency by reducing the skin effect and proximity effect, which can occur in high-frequency applications. Ribbon inductors are often used in power electronics and RF applications due to their compact size and improved thermal performance. Their geometry allows for better magnetic coupling and lower parasitic capacitance compared to conventional inductors.

Ribbon curls occur due to the physical properties of the ribbon material, often made from plastic or paper, which can be manipulated by applying tension and heat. When you pull the ribbon over a sharp edge, like scissors, it stretches and creates a curl as the fibers of the material are bent and compressed. This curling effect is enhanced when the ribbon is slightly heated, as it makes the material more pliable. Once released, the ribbon retains its curled shape, creating an attractive decorative effect.
Ribbons can be made from a variety of materials, including silk, satin, organza, velvet, grosgrain, and polyester. The choice of material can impact the ribbon's texture, appearance, and intended use.

The colored ribbon vibrates in a back-and-forth motion as air flows around it, causing it to move in a waving or rippling fashion. The movement of the ribbon is a result of the interaction between the air currents and the flexibility of the material, creating an oscillating pattern as it passes by.
