What two pieces of apparatus already known experimental results or theoretical ideas did Georg Ohm use to do his experiments on current voltage and resistance?

You may not know this, but Ohm first did the experiment incorrectly and came up with a wrong and very complicated equation for what is now called Ohm's Law. He even published a paper giving this wrong equation. It was only after the journal in which his incorrect paper was published had been out for some time, that he began trying to replicate the experiment using different equipment. At this point he realized that the type of battery he had chosen for the initial experiments had an unusually high internal resistance, which had caused false readings and resulted in the wrong and very complicated equation. Use of a different type of battery with a much lower internal resistance in later experiments produced our current correct and simple equation. He then wrote a new paper that retracted the original.
