Which are the necessary books for gate mechanical engineering?

There is no such book for GATE exam. All you have to do is to read the standard author books for each subject mentioned in the syllabus. Refer at least two books per subject, let one of them explains the concept in detail (possibly foreign author books), the other should contain, maximum no of problems. Solve the previous year Gate question papers. Work out as many problems as you can. This year general aptitude questions are also going to be asked in the exam. So you ve to prepare for that too. I prefer RS Aggarwal book for General Apti. I have also mentioned few of the books that i know.Strength of materials- Beer johnston and Rk bansal.Engineering Mechanics- Beer&johnston, RK rajputFluid mechanics- RK BansalThermodyanmics- Cengel.Applied Thermodynamics- PK Nag or Domkundwar.Power plant Engineering- PK Nag.Design of M/c- Shigley, VB Bhandari.Theory of machines- Norton, Rattan SSMaterials Science- Callister, OP Khanna.Manufacturing -Refer HMT book and Hajra Choudary.Heat Transfer- Cengel. How do you construct NAND gate using mechanical devices and not using electronics?

You can construct a NAND gate using relays. If the contacts are in series, it is an AND gate. If the contacts are in parallel, it is an OR gate. Depending on which contact you use, it is a NOT gate. Simply pick the right combination of contacts and the meaning of the signal, and you can consider it to be a NAND gate.

How do you Compare an AND gates functions with those of AN or gate?

An AND gate outputs a high signal (1) only when all its inputs are high (1), emphasizing a requirement for all conditions to be met. In contrast, an OR gate outputs a high signal if at least one input is high, allowing for more flexibility in satisfying conditions. Consequently, while an AND gate enforces strict criteria, an OR gate accommodates broader conditions, making them useful for different logical operations in digital circuits.
