Java was developed by John Gage, Goslin, Joy, Naughton, Wayne Rosing, and Eric Schmidt, who envisioned that the advent of graphical Web Browsers would evolve the internet forward to become as interactive as they believed Cable Television would have become. Originally they developed a web browser prototype entitled "WebRunner" and later "HotJava" which enabled graphic intergration, simlar to Mosaic. It's official release version was v1.0a2 and has gone on further to now be incorported in many of the worlds computer systems, ranging from various internet browsers, to non-internet based computer programmes, and handheld devices such as mobile phones, tablets, and PDAs.
