Probably a bad tub bearing. Live with it, or get a new machine.

It won't be the bearing because the shaft is outside of the drum, but it could be a leak on one of the pipe joints, or (as happened on mine) on the pump, which does use a shaft running through a bush and seal from the inside to the outside of the pump body.
