wheels at the back push the vehicle forward.
4 wheels at the back provides twice friction against the road making the chance to slip due to it's own weight fairly low. these type of vehicles needs these extra set of wheels especially on rainy days. the front wheels need not to add an extra pair because they are needed to maneuver the vehicle and would make it harder to turn with 4 wheels in front (i can only say that someone can possibly build a vehicle with 4 wheels in front by a custom build if he wants it. also no car factory has ever done a vehicle with 4 wheels in front)
heavier loads requires more wheels at the back and middle as to distribute the weight of the axle load.

A car with the engine in the rear should have rear/all wheel drive. A car with the engine in the front should have front/all wheel drive.

To align the motor on a 2005 Harley-Davidson Sportster, first ensure the bike is on a level surface and the rear wheel is off the ground. Check the motor mount bolts for proper torque, referring to the service manual for specifications. Use alignment tools or a straight edge to ensure the engine is parallel to the rear wheel and adjust as necessary. Finally, secure all bolts and double-check the alignment before taking the bike for a test ride.
Buses and lorries are so heavy that it's starting to become difficult and expensive to have the steering wheels also work as drive wheels, so they usually settle for only having the simpler rear axle as drive wheels.
When the car backed up and the back wheels slipped into the ditch, the rear axle was damaged.
Weight distribution.
It is rear wheel drive only.
Having a double axle on a truck spreads the load on the road surface preventing road damage and provides greater stopping friction when braking.
center of front wheel to center of rear wheel.
Measure from the Center of the front wheel to the centrer of the rear wheel
It means that the truck does not have four wheel drive. The truck is rear wheel drive and is pushed from the back. 4x2 means a four-wheel vehicle in which engine power is transmitted to only two axle-ends: the front two in front-wheel drive or the rear two in rear-wheel drive.
rear wheel drive or four wheel drive capable
Was just looking at at 2009 and it was front wheel but am hoping the SS is all wheel or rear even. Its is definitely a truck underneath not like the pt cruiser which is a neon.
Yes if they are the proper size and have the same bolt pattern.
That would be the rear passenger tire.
Yes and no, you would need to have a two wheel drive rear drive shaft.
Centre of the front axle to the centre of the rear axle.
