At high altitude air is less dense.
This means that any ionised air molecules (or charged pollution particles) in the air have less other air molecules (or pollution particles) to collide with as these ionised/charged particles accelerate towards the electrical conductors they are attracted to (with the opposite electric potential) .
As they have a better chance at accelerating for longer without being slowed down by colliding with other air molecules/ pollution particles (as they would in more dense air) they are able to reach higher speeds on average and so can cause a Townsend avalanche more easily
A Townsend avalanche is where a charged particles impact causes more charged particles to be created and these accelerate and impact with other particles creating more charged particles, a kind of chain reaction.
Note: there is actually a knee point in this trend, where if the pressure is reduced too much there are not enough molecule's/particles close together so an avalanche breakdown of the air is less likely to occur.
FYI: This effect is related to Paschen's law
High resistance means insulation
Rated insulation voltage is the maximum voltage that can be applied to the insulation of an electrical device without causing a breakdown or failure. It is a measure of the insulation's ability to withstand high voltage without impacting its performance or safety. The rated insulation voltage is typically specified by the manufacturer and is an important parameter to consider when designing or selecting electrical equipment.
Refractory insulation is defined as insulation for extremely high temperatures. The threshold of temperature of insulation for refractory insulation is > 815 Celsius.
To provide optimal insulation to high voltage equipments.
what is most commonly caused bt current flowing through high resistance due to faulty wiring igniting insulation and other materials
High resistance means insulation
using high quality insulation for all electrical and electrical equipment.
By providing high insulation.....
it is biaxially oriented pet film. With high dielectric and mechanical property ,it is suitable for electrical insulation, such as slot insulation, ,interurn and liner insualtion ,wrapping insulation for coils and cables, as well as producing insulation laminate meterial.

High voltage refers to the amount of electrical potential energy in a system, while high current refers to the flow of electrical charge. High voltage can cause electrical breakdown and insulation failure, leading to equipment damage and safety hazards. Safety measures for high voltage include insulation, grounding, and protective gear. High current can cause overheating, equipment damage, and electrical fires. Safety measures for high current include proper circuit protection, current limiting devices, and regular maintenance checks.
Rigid material that has high insulation value and is easily cut and shaped.
A highpot test, short for high potential test, is a type of electrical test that checks the insulation integrity of a component or system by applying a high voltage between the component and its surroundings. This test helps to identify any weaknesses or faults in the insulation that could lead to electrical breakdown or failure.
Hi-potting, also known as high potential testing, is a method used to test the insulation in electrical circuits by applying a high voltage to check for any leakage current. This test helps to ensure that the insulation can withstand the expected voltage levels and is key to preventing electrical breakdown.
Safety measures to ensure proper AC line insulation in a residential electrical system include using high-quality insulation materials, regularly inspecting the wiring for any damage or wear, ensuring proper installation by a qualified electrician, and following all electrical codes and regulations.
A megger is an instrument that generates a high voltage. That high voltage is then used for measuring insulation resistance, especially that of electrical devices.
