for example what if as your the tires on your car got hot they expanded and if the get to hot popped. same as in construction, most bulding materials wood, metal, glass all expand or contract based on temp, air pressure , and moisture content - and if you wqant to build a building that didnt whistle or fall down when the wind blew you would very much pay attention to your materialsand how they interact with the environment.
