Long Distance Communications these days is handled by Microwave Towers. The good news is that these towers can be placed large distances away from each other so large distances are covered. The bad news is the towers must be in line-of-site of each other or the signal will be lost. Hilly areas are a good example of bad line of site.

Cattle rearing is important in this area because crops cannot be grown in such hilly terrain.
