An abyss is a deep chasm. A wall suggests the opposite of that, but isn't natural. Plus, it should be thicker and higher. Most igneous dikes tend to be fairly short, if they extrude from the surface at all, but dikes have fairly straight sides rising upwards, as opposed to the descending walls of an abyss.
