I disagree with the idea that books are old fashioned and will soon disappear. I disagree because you used the word, books. Your algebra book will disappear. Once you have worked the problems on page 127, you will never need to go back to page 127. You can have that same information on a computer screen. That book and any book like it will disappear.
Bibles will not disappear. People will want to flip back and forth looking up various passages. Computer screens simply can not move anywhere fast enough.
At present sheet music is not computerized nor can it be.
Paperback novels can be read in an easy chair. They are read for sheer enjoyment. The attempts to replace them are nowhere near as enjoyable.
Before Television became popular there were far more movie theaters than there are now. Television greatly reduced their number. Computers will do the same thing to books. There will continue to be a market for books. It will become a smaller market.
