Uncle Tam is Cal and Will's uncle. He is a troublemaker for the Styx. He played a part in helping Cal and Will escape. When he is in the custody of the Styx, he escapes to help Will and Cal who are in desperate need of help. He fights Crawfly, a Styx, in order to protect the two boys. He wins the battle but is badly wounded. In the end, he dies trying to hold the Styx off for a little while to buy Cal and Will time to escape with Imogo, one of his closest friends.
