Claudia and her brother run away from home and begin living in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. One day Claudia sees a new exhibit, a mysterious statue called Angel, donated to the museum by a Mrs Basil E. Frankweiler, that some claim was created by Michelangelo. Claudia becomes determined to discover Angel's true origins, eventually leading her to Mrs. Frankweiler herself , who listens to the children's' account of their adventures, then offers Claudia the opportunity to find the answers.

Claudia was the oldest, having three younger brothers (in order of age): Steve; Jamie (who accompanied her when she ran away); and Kevin. I loved this book when I was a kid!
