An effective definition is a definition that: * Tells the reader what the word/phrase is, and possibly gives the etymology. * Tells the reader how the word/phrase is said. * Makes it easy to understand. * Doesn't over-complicate things to breaking point. * Tells it to the reader as if they do not know what it already means.
The attractive lady got the man's attention. Gravity is an attractive force exerted by matter and varying with mass and distance.
Unbalanced force means the Net Force. So if there was a force of 6N to the left and 4N to the right the unbalanced or net force would be 2N to the left.

The compound noun 'air force' is only a proper noun when it is used for a specific air force. For example:Do we have an air force? Yes we do, the US Air Force. How do I join the Air Force? You visit an Air Force recruiter. Do other countries have an air force? This is not a sentence nor a question. The reader can not know what is wanted with the question.
