This is such a useful question in the current world, as problems with the spelling and with the grammar usage of this word is one of the language problem phenomena of today!

'Your' is more correctly used as in, "This is your life!" not as in, "You're about to fall off!" for instance.

Most sentences on the internet now actually spel this latter instance incorrectly!!

When the sentence you are trying to represent could be spoken as, "You are about to fall off", the correct spelling/grammar for the shortened version is as earlier said, "You're about to fall..."

Another example of "your", in proper sentence:

'Did you find your way to the doctor?'
