For most words add an s. For baby and nappy change the ending to -ies. (For some reason people don't accept the plural of Nancy is Nancies, however). Man is men, child is children (and brother could be brethren). Octopus can be octopi or octopi. Bacterium and medium become bacteria and media. There are some mass nouns-sheep, cod, flour, salt, etc where the singular is the same as the plural.
