"PEE-SHON"
pishon
"Pishon" (פִּישֹׁ֑ון) is the name of a river. It doesn't mean anything, in the same way that "Nile" is the name of a river, but "Nile" doesn't mean anything outside of association with the river. To this date, the Pishon has never been matched with an extant Middle Eastern River (whereas Farat is matched with Euphrates and Khidekel is matched with Tigris). Pishon is also not present as a term in any piece of historical literature outside of the Bible.
The four rivers mentioned in the Bible that are believed to be the Pishon, Gihon, Tigris, and Euphrates are significant in religious texts and are thought to have flowed through the Garden of Eden.
