Potato Kibbe.

I grew up as the favorite grandchild of a Lebanese Grandfather and learned how to cook everything in his kitchen. Once a year, in summer, we would have the Nader/Edwards/Marieb picnic in Livonia MI and it would be all Lebanese food.

Yummy!

My entire family pronounced it 'kibbie' and I assume batata (potato) would be 'batah-tah.'

I made potato kibbe for Easter dinner at my other half's relation's house and it was served right next to the turkey!

It has a layer of real mashed potatoes, a layer of sauteed lamb/butter-sauteed pine nuts (or 'snoobar') and sauteed onions, then another layer of potatoes. It is really good!
