Put a decimal then 1, 1, 3, 4. Flip it over and the number 0.1134 spells "hELL0." This only works on older calculators. Newer ones have a closed in 4, like you see here.
You press 0.1134 and then turn the calculator upside down.
Numbers displayed as LCD's or LED's on a calculator will resemble similarly-formed letters when they are inverted. E.g. "1"=I, "3"=E, "4"=H, "5"=S, "7"=L, "9"=B. Using this method, the number "710.77345" when turned upside-down will resemble the word "ShELL.OIL" - various jokes and riddles use this technique.
You need to get a specific calculator that does have alphabetical and numerical systems.A "high teched" one is the best. But a simple calculator that has both customs is good. Buy one (sorry don't know specific prices, but i am reccomending Staples), and then they will have directions in the box it comes in or something. Or i remember when I went to use one,(a Texas Calcutor, this brand is used most in CT) there was a button on the top row(left to right) and it has numerous options. Hope this helps! :( sorry I didnt specifically answer your question. I have tried getting answers but all of them we "Unanswered", so i had experience. this is my background knowledge of calcutlators, Best of luck!
The simplified "figure 8" (7-lines) number symbols on many LCD and LED displays can make numbers appear as letters when inverted (upside-down).
Number-letter pairs (some the same inverted or not) are:
So any words that can be spelled with B, E, H, I, L, O, or S can be formed by inverted numbers. Example : the number "07734" will look like "hELLO" when turned upside down.
On calculators using the 7-block (LCD) numbers, type the number 14, and flipping it over the display will look like "hi" (some numbers look like letters on a calculator, either right-side-up or upside-down).
