He is on his and whitneys boat when rainsford hears a gun shot. He stands up on the railing to get a better look. But when he leans over his pipe hits the rope and he trys to grab it but ends up falling in the water. then he swims to the island. And finds the mansion. Then he finds out Zaroff is hunting humans. Then he becomes the next one to be hunted. Then he escapes and goes back to the mansion and hides in Zaroffs place. Then meets up with him and then Zaroff becomes the hunted because of his pride.

∙ 12y agorainsford comes to ship trap island while on his luxary yacht. he is going on a big game hunt in Africa to hunt panthers and other big cats. far to the right in a bog he can faintly see an island (ship trap island) he hears gun shots then jumps up on the rails and leans to far and ddrops his pipe and reaches for it then loses his ballance and falls off in the middle of the night and noone hears his call for help so he has no choice but to swim into the direction of the gunshots.
