Parson hoopers perception of the world is that every person has a secret
How much does our presence on earth matter?
The phrase "perception is reality" has been attributed to political strategist Lee Atwater. Atwater is perhaps best known for his work on George H.W. Bush's campaign in the late 80's. He often used the phrase when talking about the importance of public relations to campaigning and was said to be "ahead of his time" with this idea. His promising consulting career was cut short when he died of a brain tumour at the age of 40. (http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/atwater/etc/synopsis.html)

It started with British influence, extended into imperial empires, and now exists in the form of Western hegemony. It has impacted all facets of life as communication is the one thing that links us all. Discursive power is alive and well, and the West is looked upon with disdain and respect for being able to extrapolate its way of life and language on the rest of the world.

Perception influences how we interpret and make sense of the world around us. It can affect our thoughts, emotions, and behavior, leading to biases and misunderstandings. Understanding the implications of perception can help us communicate more effectively, empathize with others, and make better decisions.
Perception is how you interpret the world around you and make sense of it in your brain.

Self-concept is how someone views themselves, while perception is how someone interprets their surroundings. Self-concept can influence perception by shaping how someone sees and interprets the world around them. Perception, in turn, can also affect self-concept by influencing how someone feels about themselves based on how they are perceived by others.
The perception that the "world seem(sic) to be spiralling(sic) into such a bad state" is a personal perception and opinion. Many would argue that it is not.

Perception plays a role in intelligence by influencing how we interpret and understand information from our surroundings. It can affect how we process new information, make decisions, and solve problems, all of which contribute to our overall intelligence. Our ability to perceive the world accurately and make sense of it is intertwined with our cognitive abilities and intelligence.
