Stradlater is characterized as the most popular and handsome guy at Pencey who is surrounded by a lot of girls. Also he is showing as phony person who to the same time is so friendly not because he wants but because he wants to get something from people. At least he is so vain, we can observe this in the care he takes about his appearance.
