The only tolls that you have to pay are in New Jersey and the tunnel or bridges in New York. Tolls in NY are pretty expensive aound $5.25 per car per each time you go through it.

* Added - If you are on the straightest route, I-95, you must also pay in Maryland and Delaware. The tolls are actually higher southbound from New York City to North Carolina than they are northbound (you have to pay to leave New Jersey going southbound, but not to enter going northbound). The total tolls are about $16 going northbound and $20 southbound.

PERCHANCE he for whom this bell tolls may be so ill, as that he knows not it tolls for him; and perchance I may think myself so much better than I am, as that they who are about me, and see my state, may have caused it to toll for me, and I know not that. so... what exactly is "ask not for whom the bell tolls" supposed to mean? i have a feeling its death/death-roll related- like at a hanging or something- but whats it mean

How much does it cost n tolls from nc to ny in a moving truck?

Depends on which part of NY you're going to, and which part of NC you're leaving from. When I was stationed at Fort Drum (80 miles north of Syracuse), I didn't spend anything in tolls coming from Garner, NC when I returned from block leave. But, if you're going to NYC, that'll be a much different story.
