A philanthropist, by definition, gives away time/money/assets to fellow man.

Many poor people are philanthropists, spending their time helping others in every conceivable way.

Many rich people are philanthropists, returning some of their wealth, gained from the community, back to the community in the form of schools, museums, libraries etc.

Many philanthropists are millionares or multimillionares.

In between the very rich and the very poor, many philanthropists are just ordinary folk, with average income/earnings/wages/profits who decide to share some of what they have with some who do not have.

So, in monetary terms, some philanthropists make a lot, some don't make anything.

But in other ways, they all make much with what they have. In all philanthropists do not make money but they give it away, there is no pay check to be a philanthropist.
