I would consider someone a hero if they seemed to do everything right. When you see them and all you can say is "wow, if only i could be like them" or "what would we do if we didn't have people like them?" We also think of someone as a hero when they "rescue" us from something dread full or scary.

∙ 10y agoFirst of all, since he is a fictitious character, we would have to ask an authority, like his creator, to ellaborate on that. Other than that, if I was him, I'd feel pretty darn awesome. Though I would need a vacation once in a while, if that was possible, because fighting crime can become very stressful, not to mention dangerous.

What has Iago lost that is comparable? Nothing. The only people who doubt that Othello can be the hero of this play, if anyone is, are racists and feminists, the former because they refuse to accept a hero who is black and the latter because they refuse to accept a hero who treats his wife like that. For them, I guess the play has no hero.
