It may use similes and metaphors or other kinds of images, and it does not come right out and say it-- it lets the reader think about it and draw a conclusion about what the author is trying to say.
One way is to read the first paragraph of the article, the author usually has a summary what the article is going to talk about. You can also read the first sentence of each paragraph to gain some more of the key points.
