Revision proceeds editing. At this stage the author rewords the given current document so that it is easier to read, makes more sense, more clearly portrays their thoughts etc. The author makes sure that the overall document is in sync with the given thesis, its structure is satisfactory and there are no unsupported assertions or incongruent facts, etc. Editing is the final stage in writing. The author/editor checks for spelling, grammar, consistent writing style, incorrect data or word usage etc.
The term for when an author deliberately uses bad grammar for artistic effect is called "inventive syntax" or "non-standard grammar." This technique can be used to create a specific tone or voice in the writing, or to challenge traditional grammar rules for creative purposes.
