The native English form is handsomer. Some people think the Frenchified form, "more handsome," is better. There is a "rule" - loaded with exceptions - that adjectives of foreign origin having two or more syllables should take the French construction. But handsome is a native English word. The best speakers treat it accordingly.

-

More handsome. Like you, bud.

Both are correct, but handsomer is preferred as the native English form of the comparative degree, over more handsome which is the Frenchified form.
