- It isn't actually an adjective. It is either a pronoun or a determiner depending on the context in which it is used. If you were to say "That is awesome" it would be a demonstrative pronoun, however, if you were to say "That game is awesome" it would be a determiner. Remember, pronouns are the ones which replace nouns.
