It is fairly simple to use the word in a sentence... you could just say (using it as an adjective) "He was a heteroclite person." For the noun form, you could say "He was a heteroclite." The trick is if you have to use it in a sentence in a way that hints at its meaning... that is trickier. Maybe something like "He was an innovative, eclectic heteroclite; normalcy was a bad word to him." Here's a link to a dictionary page, for further review: http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/heteroclite
Well "normalcy" has become accepted, 90 years after Warren Harding - while still a Senator - was ridiculed for using it instead of "normality." Most US dictionaries now consider it as acceptable usage; in general, it is not so regarded in Britain. However, while I wasn't around when Harding became notorious for saying "normalcy," it still grates on me. I'd much rather see and hear "normality." There are many other grammatical errors which disturb me more, though. An increasingly common one is using "'s" erroneously, as for a plural. That's never OK. It's either a contraction for "it is," as here, or a possessive, as in " This must be my dog's collar."
