It is in most situations, mainly because it helps the protagonist in keeping their determination. There hasn't been a scenario (that I've seen) where optimism isn't valuable. Of course, there is blind optimism that leads people to believe that everything is great when it really not, so there is a limit to optimism being a good thing.
i agree with ^^ him/her. it can be valuable in most cases. but in other cases, i guess if you're optimistic about it, it'll make u want to fight back even more. think about it this way, the superhero says: "there's no way this is gonna be easy. it's gonna be so hard." that's quite pessimistic. but then he/she's gonna have to do it at some point. even though it is pessimistic, they still have to go on.

No. I believe some heroines may be overrated, but there are many male heroes that are overrated as well. It is wonderful that women and girls have the option and empowerment to look up to or be heroines.
