Not at all. A Pentagram is a five pointed start, it is often seen as a representation of the elements, and the spirit. Also a symbol of protection.

Commonly associated with the Pentacle, a five pointed star surrounded by a circle.

In short, no, but to elaborate...

One reason that the pentacle is associated with devil worship, satanism, etc.. is because of its connection to Wicca, tarot, and many other pagan traditions and religions.

It was used as a protective symbol by Christians for many years but during years that the Christian church hunted and burned "witches" they found that many of the people accused were using the symbol as well. The Christians believed that these people were working for the devil so the symbol must have been satanic. This was when the pentacle began to represent a goats head, or the devil in the form of Baphomet.

Even though the pentacle is believed to be evil by the Christians it has many meanings to many different people. The wiccan priests use it either upright or inverted to denote rank for example.

A pentagram does not necessarily mean evil. Some people use it as a symbol of evil, but some others use it as a non evil symbol. Wiccans for example use a pentacle, which is basically the same as a pentagram, as a good symbol.

Inasmuch as the inverted pentagram is a symbol used by Satanists, it is associated with persons whom Catholics believe have been deceived by the devil and their own personal pain and negative experiences. They are in dire need of immediate assistance from God and from his Holy Church, but to call them evil helps no one, since all human beings are sinners in need of God's grace.

What do inverted pentagram tattoos mean?

A pentagram is usually just a pentagram, no matter which way it is turned...There are some folks who think that it means devil worshiping by having the top point down...To a pagan it is just a pentagram and you will find it means know harm.. Now the pentagram has been around for ever and ever while Satanism has only been around for under 2000 yrs. To truly know ask the wearer what it means to him... Hope this helps. No no no no no there are some things right here but there is also some wrong. Truth: The inverted Pentagram IS a Satanic symbol Satanism is one of the first religions it dates back to Ancient Egypt. if you didnt know their religion is in fact Satanism. True Satanism. Not that blood scarifying evil crap. Its strictly spiritual. Lastly the correct way for the pentagram to be facing is downward because the energy from the pentagram is going back into the earth to replenish her instead of shooting up into space where it goes nowhere.

Why are the pentagram AND the inverted pentagram both evil?

Neither are evil - in fact, ancient greeks such as the Pythagoreans used it as a religious symbol and so did the early Christians (5 points to represent the 5 wounds Jesus sustained on the cross). Today, some neopagans use this symbol as a mark of faith. If it is your view that people who don't worship Christ, then you may think one or both are evil, but I believe you are mistaken. Neither symbol is evil just as a triangle isn't evil, a circle isn't evil, etc...

Are pentagrams bad if you are a Catholic?

It depends on which religion you are from. If you're Catholic, it means the 5 wounds of Jesus.Um, well No offense to the person who posted before, but you should probably check with a priest of the church or a Catholic reference book before accepting a pentagram.Roman Catholic AnswerIn the past the pentagram was commonly used to refer to the five wounds of Christ. Today it is used by witches, wicca, the occult and freemasonry. In other words, every modern use of it carries a direct connotation that would be evil if you are a Christian. Under those circumstances, I believe that, yes, if you are a Catholic, you should steer clear of anyone using a pentagram.

Why in a druids amulet is the pentagram upsidedown?

point up pentagram = masculine, energy going out point down pentagram = feminine, energy going in. Christianity makes everyone scared of everything. Neither one of them is "evil." They are just 2 sides of the same whole.

What is the purpose of the pentacle?

For me, the purpose of a pentacle is to protect you from evil (Ghost, demons, ect.) but to other people it is a pentagram, which is the same, unless it is upside down, which is a symbol of evil.
