Style and technique are closely related, but not identical.

Style refers to how the play itself is presented. If its a period peice, are they using authentic period language? Does it rely on external information (ie draw heavily on current pop-culture), etc.

Technique is basically the set of tools the playwrite uses to create his story. How its structured, for instance.

The best analogy I can think of is that technique is a tool box, and style is just one tool in that box.

How does technique differ in various art?

Technique is related more to the artist than the medium. Each artist has their own technique, some good examples are Jackson Pollock and his drip paintings, Georges Serat and his pointillism, or optical color mixing technique. Often in art the words style and technique can be interchanged, as in 'a painting done in the style of Pollock'. The technique, in this example, could be the same or quite different from that of Pollock.

How hard is it to play the banjo?

Keep in mind that figuring out how to play the banjo is considerably more of a physical challenge than a mental one. It would take you a lot of repetitions and physical exercise to develop the abilities that are required for you to play the banjo. The three-finger Scruggs’ style technique is the simplest technique for playing the banjo. It provides simple and solid rhythmic music directly. This technique makes it easy to play the banjo while delivering pleasant music. Each instrument has different types of playing styles and learning curves so you would learn banjo as you would learn any other instrument. For some people, it might be easy and for some people, it might be difficult but that depends on how you learn to play it
