I'll give it a shot. An apostrophe can either mean a contraction, dialectical pronunciation, or a possessive, so let's see if I can fit all of that into one sentence.

Yes, if done in proper sentence format you can end many sentences with well. Similar to the previous sentence if you noticed I used the word well to end off my sentence there are also many other ways to you well at the end of a sentence. There are exceptions to just about everything in the English language, but the general rule for apostrophes is purely for possession. There are very very few cases where apostrophes are used to indicate plural. If there were many mothers it would be: moms Ex: All of our moms went to the kitchen to make sandwiches for our dads. If something belonged to the mother it would be: mom's Ex: My mom's wrist hurt after making so many sandwiches for my dad.

To show the plural of numbers, letters and abbreviations. Do not replace the three's in this chart with four's. How many l's are in parallel? An example of a plural abbreviation is ABC's
"Without social activism by oppressed groups, many of the advantages we have today, such as freedom of speech and the right to vote, would not be possible."
It all depends on how you use the term. If its plural (ex. how many officer are on the team??) then it doesn't have an apostrophised if its not (another ex. that officer's in trouble.) it would mean the officer is. So then it would have an apostrophes.
