The controversy over the No Child Left Behind Act is related to whether it has worked or not
If you mean to say 'left behind' as in, "When I moved, my friends, school, and home were left behind" Then you could substitute, 'left behind' with 'remained in the past', and remove the word 'were'.
There are two Left Behind series, the kids and the adults versions. In the adult Left Behind series, there are a total of 16 books that make it up and the kids version has a total of 40 books.
"You leave your cares behind" is active voice.
Left has two meanings:1. It is the past tense of the verb "to leave". e.g. "Will you leave him behind?" "We left him behind already."2. It is that direction which is counterclockwise (or anti-clockwise) of going straight forward; the opposite of "right", which is clockwise of straight forward. e.g. "If you are standing looking North, West is on your left and East is on your right."
