Try starting with passive sentences instead of active. e.g:
INSTEAD OF: Mark was eating an orange.
TRY: The orange was eaten by Mark.
Variations:
INSTEAD OF: She slept on the top bunk but she doesn't like it.
TRY: Even though she doesn't like it, she slept on the top bunk.
INSTEAD OF: She dived right in like a champ.
TRY: Like a champ, she dived right in.
INSTEAD OF: I'm glad you passed your test.
TRY: Wow, you passed your test.
