One day an Austrian soldier tried to assault Leuthold's (a Shepard) daughter. Leuthold kills the guard in defence and William tell helped him escape. William tell was the best cross-bower in the world, however as he helped luethold, Gessler (the ruler of Austria) had him arrested. Gessler decided he would let tell live if he could split an apple from his sons head with a single bolt. He successfully did this but says that if he had missed he would have shot Gessler. Gessler tries to capture tell but tell shoots him through the heart in a battle. This was a very short and vague summary but i hoped it helped.
