This about this and you can come up with many of these. Open ended questions ask things like "what do you enjoy?" "what is your favorite?" "how do you do this?" -- any question that will let people give you a paragraph or two is a good open ended question. You just have to make them all center around the holiday.

How do you think the ancient Egyptians were able to construct such massive pyramids without modern technology? How do you think our understanding of pyramids and their purpose might evolve in the future with new technological advancements and research methods?
Make is short and easy to understand. Try and put interesting questions at the beginning to grab the attention of the person taking the survey. Make sure the questions are NOT leading in any way. If you have choices, make the list of choices short. Try to use closed-ended and not open-ended questions.
I'm not sure what the question means but here we go with an answer. Open ended questions are one that when asked can not be answer with a simple yes or no. The answerer must elaborate, explain and otherwise embellish in order to give an answer. To ask an open ended question you don't as "why" but rather "what" and "how". Until you get used to asking such questions a good idea to write them down down ahead of time until the become second nature to you. There are statistical programs that can categorize open-ends. You could then create a chart based on the number of comments in each category.

Start out slow. Just say hi to her and be polite. Don't try to have a big conversation with her in a group. Acknowledge that she is there and don't make her feel left out, but don't press her. If you are outside of the group, ask her some open ended questions about herself. Close ended questions will get you a one worded response, where open ended questions take a little more information to answer. Examples: Close ended question: Have you read any good books lately? Yes. Open ended question: What good movies have you watched lately? Paranormal Activity and The Ring. That gives you something more to go on. You have a follow up. "You like horror movies? Have you seen...?" Don't expect her to be your best buddy right away. Shyness is sometimes very hard to get over. If you press too hard, you can make it worse.

It all depends on how the terms are defined. An act can be unjust but moral if injustice is defined as violation of rights, and morality is defined as that which produces the greatest good. Further questions arise as to "greatest good for whom?" So it's an open ended question.
