Divination by means of water.

the suffix -mancy is rooted in ancient greek and translates rougly into a term for divination, while aqua is obvious the latin term for water.

Only in recent years has -mancy taken on the general denoting a form of magic. It always used to imply only that the future could be ordained by a certain method.
