The term H-I when used to describe a diamond refers to its 'white' colour.
In this colour grade, D is the 'whitest' and H-I does show a bit of yellow in the colour. Only a gemologist would truly be able to tell the difference between a diamond of D colour and one of H-i colour with the naked eye and without anything else to compare it to.
