Parapluie Revel is (Parapluie is the french word for umbrella and Revel is the family last name) the name of a french umbrella company which doesn't exist anymore. This is the company of my family. It was created around 1850 by my great, great, great grand father in the region of Lyon. The company closed its doors in the 80's because of the rise of cheap umbrellas. On one of Leonetto Cappiello most famous posters, the words "Parapluie-Revel" are written on the top.

'Parapluie' is the French word for Umbrella (no mistake there, three people holding umbrellas in the rain) while the the word 'Revel' is the same when translated into English, it means 'to take great pleasure or delight'. so basically it says

"Umbrella-Delight"

-Three people running in the rain, makes sense. (not sure about the factory..)
