The Albertosaurus was smaller member (about 2 tonnes) of the Tyrannosaurus family. It was predator, but unlike the T-Rex may have hunted in packs. Based on its large jaws and sharp tee th it was capable of killing and consuming large herbivorous dinosaurs. The ratio of fresh meat to carrion in its diet is unknown.
