when two or more objects are investigated to discover the similarities or any likeness. Comparison can apply to anything, governments of different countries, pieces of cloth, ideas - anything
the act of comparing. In simple words, stating the difference between two things.

A comparison means how similar or different 2 or more things are. For example of similarity Alibaba and Export Portal are both E-commerce online platforms, have B2B opportunities, but as for age, Alibaba is old, Export Portal is new or another type of comparison is by possibilities: Alibaba has 2 types of orders, Export Portal has 5 types of orders, it is done to suit different conveniences for buyer and seller (I was shocked when I saw this), by content in Alibaba you can sell/buy many things, in Export Portal add to the list (many) different types of motors and even planes! my friends (the time I was shocked twice), if Alibaba has a lot of (sub)categories, then Export Portal has around 18,000 (I think you understand what happened with me the 3rd time). Another example is that Alibaba is more Asian, Export Portal is Worldwide. So I think you got it.

A comparison becomes odious when one compares the performance of, say three prime ministers who had ruled at the different times and under different circumstances. It it then we can say that comparing their respective performances will be odious.
