If I understand the reference correctly it's a day where anything that can go wrong, goes wrong. It sounds like a reference to Murphy's law (anything that can go wrong, will go wrong)
Yes it is My dad's nickname is Spud because our surname is Murphy
Old Man Murphy is that all his life he had a crazy something disorder that caused his to be crazy so one day he killed a man and because of it he was sent to a mental hospital. he got really threatened and broke out. the doctors understaned that he didnt want to be there so they sent him up in the woods FAR away from every body elce. so one day a police went to go check on him....he never returned, and the reason for that is because Old Man Murphy had killed him,and yet another person....the next day another police came to see if the 1st cop was ok because he had never returne and Old Man Murphy had kille the SECOND officer.some one had reported it and once he man confessed he was put to death and now his spirit lies in the camp grounds of the outdoor school
