∙ 8y agoA "free ride" can be literally free, or it can mean that someone gets something without working for it. This phrase comes from a song, and is supposed to show something ironic, but it actually is not an ironic situation. The character in the song has already paid for the ride, but then learns that they could have ridden for free.
