I believe "Stanary" or "Stannary" is related to tin mining. "Stannic" means of or containing tin. A "Stannary" is a tin mine or a town closely related to tin mining. I understand there were also Stannary parliaments and taxes.
If you mean emicant: Emitting or flashing; beaming. Ex. The emicant light gleaming from the various punctures in the walls brought comfort in the dark.
When Jessica and I entered the entrance to the gold mine, her flashlight did not work so she borrowed one of mine.
This idiom means that your emotions were overwhelming you. You might be bored or anxious or even angry. The image is of you so frustrated by your feelings that you're climbing the walls to get away.

Mining the walls was the process of digging under the castle walls to remove their support so they would fall down.
Siege mining is simply the process of moving as close to the walls of the castle as possible that was under siege and mining-(digging under the walls of the fortification). After a 'mine' was dug under the wall it was supported by wooden beams soaked in pitch, and then the remaining space was filled with brush and anything else that would burn and then set alight. When the support timbers were burned away this would cause the walls to collapse and allow the attackers to enter the castle or fortification. The miners were called sappers because the old term for combat/military mining was called 'sapping the walls'. Sappers are now called combat engineers.
